I ALWAYS Cry at weddings

My dear college friend Dee got married in Las Vegas at the end of May. It was a joining of Irish clans. I had never been to Vegas before. The wedding was by the pool of a luxurious rental home. Dee looked gorgeous. Her Mother walked her down the aisle, as her Dad passed away this year, and that's when the waterworks started.

Many of our friends that we hadn't seen in years made the trek to Vegas, and when friends join together to witness a wedding, or join together for support and to freely express love and joy, that's always brings a lump to the throat.

My father's best friend was the father of the groom for the second water works extravaganza. Since my father's passing my family came out in full support of the newlyweds. To all of our surprise, when the officiate of the wedding mentioned that the couple would like to recognize those who were no longer with us...The grooms grandparents and Uncle Jim were mentioned. Spllliiiissshh (that's the sound of tears).

It was a beautiful beach wedding in Long Branch NJ, and when Billy, the groom smashed the glass at the conclusion of the ceremony, the people who had gathered on the boardwalk behind us proclaimed in unison Mazel tov!

Mazel tov, Billy and Farah, Dee and Chris.
